The use of biofeedback based on quantum healing can also be successful in the treatment of PTSD, activating the self-healing processes of the patient’s body. Biofeedback therapy for PTSD can be as effective as biofeedback for ADHD. What’s more, it is free of side effects, drug-free, and only restores the body’s natural processes. Let’s see what is PTSD and how does biofeedback come to PTSD?

What is PTSD
PTSD stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is a mental health problem that usually occurs after a stressful, often tragic or traumatic event. Typically within 6 months of the event.
People with PTSD may suffer from sleep disturbances, anxiety, fear, panic attacks or obsessive compulsive activities, or hypersensitivity.
PTSD is also a kind of mental defence mechanism for patients who have experienced tragedy or trauma. According to experts, PTSD is more common in people who are prone to personality disorders or other psychiatric illnesses, mood disorders. It is also important to know whether the person who has experienced a traumatic experience has a supportive family, friends, or if they use drugs, alcohol, or lead a lifestyle.
The symptoms of PTSD can interfere with normal life to a greater or lesser extent, as memories haunt them, and the negative experience creeps back into their minds, leading to a wide range of PTSD symptoms, depending on the sensitivity of the individual, the severity of the trauma and even age.
How does PTSD affect the brain
So let’s see how PTSD affects the brain! According to trauma research expert Dr. Bruce D. Perry, the brain should be thought of as an inverted triangle. The upper part of the brain is the cerebral cortex, the lower part is the brain stem. From a physiological point of view, the most important systems are those in the lower part of the brain.
Dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine and the compounds that are activated by stress and affect many processes and emotions.
In trauma survivors, the structure of the normal system is altered and some systems in the upper part of the brain, responsible for thinking, may be partially shut down. This is why, after the trauma, it can be difficult to concentrate, become anxious, a poor sleeper, for example.
A number of behavioural and emotional problems will develop, some people will become depressed, they may develop schizophrenic symptoms, or they may behave in a way that is somewhat similar to an autistic person.
EEG and biofeedback
EEG biofeedback, also known as neurofeedback therapy, is an effective treatment option for ADHD or PTSD without side effects and without medication.
During neurofeedback therapy, EEG electrodes are placed on the patient’s head to measure the electrical activity of the brain. The biofeedback devices allow the brain waves, the electrophysiological signals emitted by the nerve cells, to be measured, analysed and effectively trained using a special programme.
The patient watches an animation, a film, while the sensors are placed on his head, and controls them with his attention and concentration, while the program corrects the malfunctioning of the brain waves by sound effects, flashes, image zooming, magnification.
EEG biofeedback can be effective even for headaches, migraines, chronic pain, addictions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioural disorders, learning disabilities, other mental disorders, and even athletes, people with high-stress mental jobs, performers can reach their peak performance.
Biofeedback therapy for PTSD
Research has been conducted on the similarities and differences between ADHD and PTSD. ADHD is one of the most common „disorders” of neurodevelopment in children. ADHD is a congenital or developmental disorder with symptoms of hyperactivity, forgetfulness, poor impulse control.
The symptoms of PTSD are similar to those of ADHD, so professionals have wondered whether ADHD could be hiding behind a complex PTSD. So is there actually a traumatic experience behind ADHD behavioural disorders?
Researchers have concluded that children who have been repeatedly exposed to trauma (both physical and psychological) experience a significant increase in stress, which in turn hinders the ideal development of the nervous system.
Biofeedback and PTSD are clearly linked. Biofeedback therapy helps to learn to control the body’s reactions, to gain awareness of unconscious functions.
With the right treatment plan, EEG biofeedback can help recovery from trauma by rewiring brain waves to normal.
The therapy teaches PTSD sufferers how to cope with stressful situations, how to become calmer, and encourages patients to develop new coping strategies.
